Paul Lydon


Accountancy Lecturer

Paul is an experienced accounting practitioner and lecturer who is ideally qualified by experience and education to lecture on specialised accountancy programmes.

He holds a BA degree from De Montfort University, Leicester, UK, and a Master of Business Studies from Dundalk Institute of Technology. He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning, from John Moore’s University, Liverpool.

This impressive set of academic achievements is complemented by his professional qualifications – he is a Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK).

In the early stages of his career, Paul worked as an accountant in practice, which gave him a deep understanding of the theory and practice of Auditing and associated financial areas. He worked in industry for a period, and became particularly expert in accounting issues as they apply to SME’s (small to medium-sized enterprises).

Paul has had a range of lecturing responsibilities in a number of colleges throughout his career, and is widely regarded as an excellent communicator, who empathises with, and is highly respected by, the many students who have passed through his programmes, in particular in the areas of Audit and Assurance.
