Who Should Attend?
This Certificate in Introduction to Spreadsheets and Databases will suit students wanting to expand their knowledge and understanding of MS Excel and MS Access using working models to develop a hands on experience of the applications.
This 10 week professional development course will be delivered live online via Zoom one evening per week for 2.5 hours from 6.30-9.00pm starting the week of 22nd June 2020.
Over the 10 classes the course will cover:
Introduction – MS Excel navigating the screen and interface. Basic formulae
More advanced functions, building 2 x models Phone spend schedule / Invoice
Extending functions and looking at grouping sheets in a work book. Print area and design / layout techniques
Macros part 1 – an introduction and basic development tools
Macros part 2 – more advanced developer tools and basic VBA
Introduction MS Access and general databases
Tables, data entry and relationships
Queries and an introduction to the processing potential of Access
Forms: Introduction, design and implementation of effective database forms
Reporting: Design and implementation of the output of Databases
1 x Excel model and 1 x Access model CA projects both for completion at the end of the 8 weeks.
This course is provided by Independent College Dublin and is primarily based on modules delivered in the BA Accounting and Finance degree course that is approved by QQI.
