What is the course about?
Our Certificate in Self-Reflection and Awareness Practice is aimed at and tailored for Conflict Resolution Practitioners , Business Leaders, Managers and Supervisors or anyone who has an interest in the area and practice of Self Reflection.
This certificate is a twelve week course covering the concepts of self-awareness and reflection in personal and professional spheres, emotional intelligence, introduction of the ‘selves’ through physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual understandings. This course will be personally reflective and confidential, and by choosing to undertake this course you will be enabled to enhance personal and professional reactions.
Who Should Attend?
This course would fit as a precursor to Master of Arts in Dispute Resolution Students, Dispute resolution Practitioners, Trainee and practicing mediators in all areas of ADR and ODR.
This course will also support people wishing to become more self-aware and reflective for personal/family reasons, Business Leaders/Managers. Team Leaders/Supervisors from all professions who wish to bring a level of reflection to their management styles and the teams in which they work. It would also benefit individuals where conflict forms a significant portion of their time and wish to become aware of where they ‘fit’ within that system
This 12 week professional development course will be delivered live online via Zoom from Tuesday 23rd June for 2.5 hours from 6.00-8.30pm and every Tuesday until 15th September 2020.

This course is provided and accredited by Independent College Dublin. This new certificate course is directed at NRQ level 6.

Sharon Morrissey is a Private Family Mediator, and a lecturer with ICD. She holds a MA of Arts in Conflict Resolution with NUIG and ST. Angela’s College, Sligo. PG Certificate in Mediation and Conflict Resolution, Ordinary Degree in Applied Social Care, Certificate in Counselling and Human Relations Skills, Addiction Studies, Child Bereavement and psychology, Childcare Collaborative Practitioner, Child Focussed and Child Inclusive Mediator, Completed Parental Alienation Training, Barnardos and TUSLA Child Protection Training Policies and Procedures. Sharon has completed 32 hour Specialist Family Mediation Training. She is accredited by MII. Sharon has served on Board of Management with Crèches and Early Childhood Education
Facilities. She has recently chaired the MII revamp of Family Mediation Practice. She is a Front line Practitioner, working with children and families in vulnerable positions for over 23 years, and is the
Author of “That’s Not My Ending!” She has recently collaborated with Michael Lang amongst other mediators supporting parents and families through Covid-19 Pandemic.
